A day of goodbyes

Leaving friends can be very hard.

One of the hardest parts of our having to leave is that in six and a half years we have made some very dear friends. Making friends has always been difficult for me, but saying goodbye is turning out to be harder. Yesterday I went to Chilli Studios for one last look and quite a few hugs. Some tears were shed as I explained how important a role the studio and it’s people have had on my recovery. Today, because I’m a ‘rip the Band-Aid’ off type person, I went and said goodbye to some dear friends of the pottery/ cake and coffee club that I used to attend. I learned a lot from them about life and pottery. Afterwards, because I was emotionally spent, I headed to the local pub for a pint and some lunch.

I spent some time at Orbis Community continuing to sort through my studio contents in preparation for departure. It’s been a long day and I’m ready to rest a stare at the telly for a bit. Didi is off at work so I can veg out on my serial killer shows for a bit and process a day of goodbyes.
